Lake Dardanelle Strike King-A-Thon and Season Summary

Submitted by Full Limit Outdoor Media

The Bassmaster Elite Series event that concluded on Monday of this week was stop number 6 on their tour. The Elite guys have five more tournaments to go in a long grueling season.

I can tell you it wasn’t grueling for at stop number 6; the Strike King pros. We had guys that finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th in an event that came down to the wire.

One spot out of first was Strike King veteran Mark Davis who is having a phenomenal year. He almost won his 6th event by throwing a bone Sexy Dawg and a Chrome Sexy KVD 1.5 squarebill.

KVD’s 3rd place finish came due to an array of baits including a white Heavy Cover Swim Jig tipped with a white Menace Grub, a Splatterback KVD 1.5, a sexy Shad J300 jerkbait and a Tour Grade Skipping jig also with a Menace Grub as a trailer.

Mark Menendez proved once again that he has Dardanelle’s number with a strong 4th place finish. He did the majority of his damage with a pair of KVD 1.5’s. One was our Cataouatche Special and the other was a custom paint job by Mike Russell at Bag 5 Bait Co. Mark also caught some flipping fish on a Game Hawg.

As I was thinking about how cool it was to have 4 guys fishing on the top 12 day, it prompted me to take a look at the standings and results from thus far in 2017 in both BASS and FLW to see how Team Strike King has fared. Here is what I found:

So, as it’s easy to see, the Strike King Team’s showing out didn’t start at Dardanelle. I bet that it didn’t end there either. When you put the best baits on earth in the hands of the best anglers on earth you get results.
