Question: What’s another one of your favorite Strike King baits?

Davis: The Strike King Series 3 crankbait is my little go-to bait when I don’t have any fish in my live well. I use it so often because it has a smaller body size and will produce strikes. The color I’ve picked out is one I call honey shad. It is one of our new colors. I actually brought this color to the table and asked Strike King to begin producing it.

The bait has a pearl belly, goldish-yellow sides and a hint of green and then a copper brown back. It is a very natural-looking color. A bass can mistake it for a crawfish or something similar. It’s a good fish-catching color. Also, it has a wide variety of color clarity. Once again, it’s my go-to bait if I’m fishing rock banks or even if I’m fishing real shallow structure. I’ll go to this little lure and fish it on 10- to 12-pound-test line, bump it off of any cover that I could find around. Due to its size and medium action, it produces strikes day in and day out, 12 months out of the year.
