Chick Magnet vs. Chick Magnet Jr.(2)

Chick Magnet vs Chick Magnet Jr.

The flat-sided crankbait is back, and its moving with a Tennessee swagger. Strike King Lure Company is pleased to work with industry pro and seasoned tournament angler Andy Morgan to develop the Chick Magnet and Chick Magnet Jr. flat-sided crankbait. Partnering with Strike King's innovative design team, the Dayton, Tennessee pro harkened back to his upbringing to develop the Chick Magnet. "It is great to finally see the flat-sided crankbait getting the attention it deserves," said Morgan.

The thin body design of the Chick Magnet and the circuit board lip impart a tighter wobble and an exceptionally lifelike action to the lure. The subtlety of the Chick Magnet makes it ideal shallow depth ranges. Anglers are also beginning to see the design's benefits for targeting fish in tougher conditions; the Chick Magnet excels during days when fishing pressure is high, or after a weather front has made finding a bite more challenging, even cooler water is a ideal time to throw this bait.

Chick Magnet

  • DIVING DEPTH: 3-5 feet
  • WEIGHT:  7/16oz
  • Design: Circuit board lip allows for quick divesand deflects perfectly off of cover to trigger strikes. Engineered to be more durable than wooden baits and casts farther while still keeping the action of the hand-carved balsa wood baits.
  • Application: Great for shallow water cranking throughout the year but excels in cooler water temps. When fish are eating baitfish up shallow during the pre-spawn to summer months, this is the bait you want tied on.

Chick Magnet Jr.

  • Diving Depth: 2-4 feet
  • Weight: 1/4oz
  • Design: The "little brother" of the original Chick Magnet. The Chick Magnet Jr.  is a smaller sized version of the original. This bait still features a circuit board lip for quick dives and deflects perfectly off of cover to trigger strikes. Engineered to be more durable than wooden baits and casts farther while still keeping the action of the hand-carved balsa wood baits.
  • Application: Great for shallow water cranking throughout the year but excels in cooler water temps. When fish are feeding on smaller baitfish, especially in the fall, this smaller profile gets the job done.
