A GREAT END TO THE 2022 BIG BASS CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT TRAIL

On a beautiful Sunday in Anderson, SC we capped off a successful season of Strike King/Lew’s Big Bass Challenge events. From a frigid start on Lake Toho in January to the final outing on Lake Hartwell under sunny September skies, the 6 stages of the 2022 Big Bass Challenge trail welcomed 900+ phenomenal anglers of all ages, regions and walks of life eager to catch big bass!

The Big Bass Challenge trail was developed to provide anglers of all ages and skill levels with a professional, big tournament experience for a low cost of entry. We saw anglers as young as 13 years old take home major cash prizes like Dillon Gregory who took home the Big Bass title during his first ever tournament on our Lake Murray event in May 2022.

We’d like to give a special thank you all who participated and to our partnering sponsors Lew’s, Strike King Lure Company, Mammoth Coolers, American Buffalo Knife & Tool Co. and Black Rifle Coffee Company for making this successful season possible. This year, over $65,000 in prizes were given away at our Big Bass Challenge events rewarding our participants and furthering this great sport.

First Place Overall

During Stage 6, nearly 200 anglers tested their luck and skill on Lake Hartwell, site of the 2022 Bassmaster Classic tournament. Many anglers attributed their biggest catches to the topwater bite on schooling bass off the shoals of Hartwell. This includes Greg Glouse – the overall winner of the Stage 6 event with a 7.05 lb Hartwell monster caught on a topwater bait during Period 3 of competition.

Glouse walked away with a $1,500 payout, $5,000 Lew’s/Strike King gift cards, and a Mammoth Ranger 45 cooler.

Isidoro De La Paz, Jim Miller, Dan Fay, and Doug Ramsay each walked away with a cash bonus from Black Rifle Coffee Co. During each of the 4 periods, the highest finishing angler that is also subscribed to the BRCC Coffee Club walked away with an additional $250 cash from BRCC.
