Strike King and Lew’s, two legendary brands that have worked shoulder to shoulder with crappie legend Wally Marshall, are pleased to congratulate their longtime friend and partner on his induction into the Texas Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.
“Make no mistake, Wally is the undisputed Pioneer of Crappie Fishing,” offered former Strike King President and fellow Texan, John Barns. “Since he won his first National Crappie Tournament on Cedar Creek 25 years ago, I cannot think of a man who has devoted more time, energy, and his life to growing the sport of crappie fishing."
The revered angler and owner of Mr. Crappie brand will be inducted into the Texas Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame in 2023 as its 38th member. Beyond bringing numerous innovations to the angling world with cutting-edge lures and tackle, Marshall maintains an undying dedication to philanthropic work through education and charitable donations to numerous schools, churches, and youth organizations. His everlasting passion and leadership have resulted in unanimous support for his induction.
“Wally’s unmistakable, ever-present wit and humor conceals a consummate professional, never losing his focus and drive on promoting the sport he loves and ensuring that others enjoy it as he does,” Barns said.
